shooting with your cell phone
March 3, 2009 | Filed Under Photo
I’m a huge fan of toy cameras. Toy cameras being defined on wiki as “simple, inexpensive film box cameras made almost entirely out of plastic, often including the lens.” – i’d expand that to wimpy little digital cameras that no one takes seriously.
When i first talked to Daniel howevermany years ago i remember he told me that he shot all his weddings with his cell phone. and i totally bought it. I was floored! But it did get me thinking about shooting with cell phones and i think there’s some real nice stuff shot on cell phones – and they keep getting better. I’m so going to start bringing mine to shoots w/ me.
so – all these were taken w/ my cell phone
me and nichole van on the plane
and let’s face it — sometimes a cell phone is all you have with you at JUST the right moment
so here’s to shooting a whole wedding w/ our cell phones daniel!

btw – those cell phones have a wicked time delay so factor that in when you’re shooting w/ one.

These are just soooooo awesome! Only you could turn a cell phone camera into art . . . . but then, I personally think you could turn anything in to art.

Jefra, you’ve captured our hearts with these photos, or these cell phone rendition of photos. BTW, I love the tiger pose from the little guy coming down the slide in the last photo. So poised and ready for the end.
It really does make you think: can cell phone pictures be art?
After looking at your creative photos, Jefra, the answer is yes.
Also, for the record, I was referring to all the weddings I photographed when I was an ‘assistant’ to the real wedding photographer. So ipso fatso, yes, I did shoot all my wedding photos with a cell phone camera at a certain place in time.
